Business Ecosystems: A Literature Review

Introduction

Business Ecosystems have been a topic of academic research since the 1990s and more recently the phrase has become somewhat of a buzzword in the media and among practitioners, sparking a lot of interest in various circles about the concept. Although the concept is well into its third decade of existence, if we count from Moore (1993), and has generated a substantial body of literature, there still seems to be quite a lot of variance in how it is defined and in how it is applied to actual business situations.
